Join leading international experts and researchers for a comprehensive exploration of the pre-Permian basement of the Balkans. This event bridges the gap between regional data and global tectonic models, focusing on the evolution of the Variscan (Hercynian) orogen.

• Deep Dive into Geodynamics: Re-evaluating the Late Proterozoic to Paleozoic evolution of the Balkan region.
• Variscan Metallogeny: A fresh look at mineral systems in light of new geochronological data.
• Global Correlations: Comparing the Balkan basement with the Bohemian Massif, Western Europe, and North America.
• Field Excursion: 4 days of key geological outcrops across the Iskar Gorge, Balkan Mountains, Srednogorie, and the Rhodope Metamorphic Complex.
