Forum "Critical and strategic raw materials: expert opinions and prevailing attitudes in public opinion"

November 11 @ 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

On November 11, 2025 at 1:30 p.m., the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences will host an informational and promotional forum to present the results of the first series of studies (2025) conducted as part of the National Scientific Program "Critical and Strategic Raw Materials for Green Transition and Sustainable Development." The studies are part of Work Package 1.7, which aims to assess the socio-economic impact of the extraction and processing of critical and strategic raw materials. The forum will be held under the title "Critical and Strategic Raw Materials: Expert Opinions and Dominant Attitudes in Public Opinion." The forum will present key findings from in-depth interviews with Bulgarian experts in the field of extraction and processing of critical and strategic raw materials. The main conclusions and messages from the national representative survey of public opinion in Bulgaria on critical and strategic raw materials will also be presented and discussed. The aim of the forum is to familiarize the general public and the scientific community with both the expert assessments of the status and future of critical and strategic raw materials in Bulgaria and the prevailing public attitudes in Bulgarian society towards the extraction and processing of critical and strategic raw materials. At 4:30 p.m., an exhibition entitled "Copper – Ancient and Modern," prepared by the National Museum "Earth and People," will open in the lobby of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
